Evermore Cloud Lounge

Evermore Cannabis Company

"We built ten video games for one night - drawn from Owen Murphy's characters, played two at a time on vintage TVs, with every high score live on the sign."

For Halloween at the Maryland Science Center on October 24, 2026, Evermore Cannabis Company presented the Evermore Cloud Lounge: a room to float in between the floors of the party. Aether Immersive built the lounge's immersive visuals and the Cloud Arcade, with every cloud, character and creature drawn by Owen Murphy of One Drop Design Studio.

Owen's sky ran wall to wall across the lounge as one continuous projected panorama, with his clouds drifting across the corners and characters crossing overhead. In front of it, stacks of vintage CRT televisions from Smooth Canoe carried his art and became the Cloud Arcade.

The arcade is ten original games we designed and built for the night: Cloud Hopper, Nug Catcher, Eyeball Invaders, Pumpkin Patch Panic, Cloud Breaker, Cloud Surfer, Nug Drop, Nugsteroids, Evermore Defense Force and Bud Rush. Every game plays head to head, runs on a Raspberry Pi kiosk station feeding a CRT, and is played on a classic two-button pad. Each station sent its scores to the lounge sign, which showed tonight's leaderboard for every game and celebrated each new high score as it landed.

The games did the brand's work for it. The top score in each game went into Evermore's prize raffle, and high scorers could leave an email on the TV to hear if they won and join Evermore's list. Guests played 1,362 games over the night, 504 of them head to head. More on branded games and arcades.

Every game runs on our own JavaScript engine with one shared look: 640x480, text kept inside a CRT-safe margin, Owen's masters pre-scaled so his ink lines survive a vintage picture tube. The stations boot straight into the arcade, recover on their own if anything hangs, and keep playing on a local board if the network drops, catching the leaderboard up when it returns. The sign pulls every station's scores live, so a high score in the corner of the room shows up on the big screen seconds later.
